Development Information
A restoration site includes all areas where the natural soil is
present and the current vegetation is limited or of less than
desirable composition. These include such areas as crop
fields, overgrazed pastures, or native areas invaded by woody
vegetation. Developing and completing a restoration project
requires documenting goals and objectives, acquiring data of the current vegetation
status, evaluating the current soil characteristics, and the
availability of labor, equipment, and funding.
The following is a description of a general approach to restoring an
existing area or seeding a crop field or similar site:
